The project was a major renovation to an existing facility originally constructed in 1964 as an open sided seasonal arena with an arch roof that was then fully enclosed in 1975. The renovation includes mostly structural steel and masonry building materials.
The extensive renovations to the 40,000 square foot facility created a state of the art skating arena. The renovations included providing an insulated roof, insulated ice slab, new refrigeration, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, as well as new utilities. The scope of work at the arena included providing new boards, tempered glass and ADA accessible bleachers with an overhead infrared heating system. The renovations included expansion of team rooms, concession area, lobby, skate shop and parking. Exterior improvements included a new Petrarch façade. Improvements such as new Low “E” and acoustical ceiling systems, Norament rubber flooring are among the new finishes provided.
